The Project
1º Passo Reflorestar is a community reforestation collective in Florianópolis, Brazil, founded by students of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The project needed a landing page able to turn visitors into monthly supporters through the Apoia.se crowdfunding platform, while carrying the collective's identity: the 1ºPR wordmark, a flower that spins as you scroll, and a woven pattern borrowed from Indigenous grafismos. The site is a single, hand-coded page with no framework. A hero carousel of 184 field photos rides an SVG path around the logo, revealed through a pixel-grid frosted glass that lights up as you move. A live countdown and fundraising goal sit beside it, followed by the places where the collective works, a donor club with three plans (Mangrove, Restinga and Atlantic Forest) and monthly, yearly or one-time payments, a carousel of what each contribution funds, and a closing section where the donate button follows the cursor. It speaks six languages (Portuguese, English, Spanish, German, French and Chinese) with the copy adapted rather than machine-translated: mutirão became minga in Spanish and chantier collectif in French, the Restinga biome became Coastal Woodland, prices are converted to each visitor's currency, and the stylized o dots survive every translation. Layout never shifts when the language changes. Performance was treated as design: images load on demand, animations pause off-screen, videos only load when approached, and the page stays smooth on an iPhone 11.
